God's Law, Mosaic Law and the Law of Christ
God's Law and the Law of Moses are separate as proven by scripture. God wrote the 10 Commandments by His own finger! (Exodus 31:18; 32:16). The 10 Commandments on the two tablets of stone were placed in the Arch of the Covenant (Exodus 40:20). The Law of Moses, called the book of the law was placed in the side of the Arch of the Covenant (Deuteronomy 31:26). These also included the 10, but the 10 Commandments are what is called the Law of God. For a side-by side comparison of scripture regarding this separation of Law, click here.
The Law of Moses is what is known as the Jewish Mitzvot contained in the first five books of the Torah (the Bible), and the Old Covenant made through them was replaced by the New Covenant of grace through our Messiah and Savior, Jesus Christ. There were additional laws instituted by the Jewish Rabbi's (called the Takanot), also. Basically, the Jewish nations, since the time of Moses, followed the Law of Moses (Torah) and Rabbinic laws (Takanot), which are still very much a part of the Messianic Jewish culture today. This is not to say that any laws given to the Jewish nations, inspired by God, were BAD. They are all GOOD! It's the Covenant of the Law that is abolished and replaced. Comment: There are absolute truths that are found in the New Testament, which are confirmed in the Old Testament Torah. For example, homosexuality and sorcery are said to be an abomination to God in the NT and when we look at the supporting scriptures in the OT, we can see confirmation and even the consequences for practicing such things. People who do not have the blood of Jesus covering their sins are indeed still bound by the Old Covenant Law of sin and death. In fact, to incorporate the Old Covenant under the New is to nullify the New Covenant altogether! (Galatians 2:21) The New Covenant allows repentance and complete forgiveness, as Jesus already paid the "wages of sin" through His death on the cross.
Unfortunately, many of the congregations or churches today continue to keep practicing either the Jewish Mitzvot, the Takanot, religiously adding to the Law of God. I think somehow people still believe that by religiously practicing all these works, it will somehow make them more pleasing, or more righteous to God.
Matthew 5:20 states, "For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the Law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."
2 Corinthians 5:1 "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
Romans 7:4-6 “Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God. For while we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were aroused by the Law, were at work in the members of our body to bear fruit for death. But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.”

Defintion of Covenant (Hebrew)
Hebrew word beriyth (ber-eeth’) (in the sense of cutting; a compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh):-confederacy, [con-] feder [-ate], covenant, league. From the word barah (baw-raw’); a primitive roof: to select; also (as denom. from bar (bawr or bar) (in the sense of winnowing): grain of any kind (even while standing in the field); by extension the open country:-corn, wheat); and from the Hebrew word bara (baw-raw’); a primitive root; (absolute) to create; (qualified) to cut down (a wood), select, feed (as formative processes):-choose, create (creator), cut down, dispatch, do, make (fat).
The Old Covenant of Sin and Death
When Jesus Christ began His ministry at the age of 30, the first accusation that came against Him was that of not following the Sabbath law, in that He healed people on that holy day. Well, we know Jesus never sinned, so He wasn’t in error, the Jews were. Still to this day, people who embrace the Law of Moses, the Old Covenant, are bound by it and its consequences. People who embrace grace through faith in Jesus Christ, the New Covenant, are not bound by the Old Covenant, the Law of Moses.
John 1:17 “For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.” This is a summary of the two covenants.
Galatians 3:10-12 “For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the Law to perform them.’ Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, ‘The righteous man shall live by faith.’ However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary…”
The Purpose of the Law
Romans 3:19-20 “Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may become accountable to God; because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin."
Romans 7:5 "For while we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were aroused by the Law, were at work in the members of our body to bear fruit for death."
Galatians 3:18-19 “For if the inheritance is based on Law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise. Why the Law then? It was added because of transgressions, having been ordained through angels by the agency of a mediator [Moses], until the seed [Jesus] should come to whom the promise had been made.”
Galatians 3:25-28 “But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the Law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, that we may be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.”
Change in Priesthood
Hebrews 7:11-19 is the passage showing the change of Old Testament Priesthood from the Levites and that of Melchizedek to that of Jesus Christ, our Messiah.
"Now if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the people received the Law), what further need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be designated according to the order of Aaron?
For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of Law also.
For the one concerning whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.
For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.
And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become such not on the basis of a Law of physical requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life.
For it is witnessed of Him, 'Thou art a priest forever according to the order of Mechizadek.'
For, on the one hand, there is a settling of a former commandment because of its weakness and uselessness (for the Law made nothing perfect), and on the other hand there is a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God."
The End of the Old Covenant
The Old Testament prophesied of the New Covenant to come in Jeremiah 31:31-32 “Behold, days are coming,’ declares the LORD, ‘when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah (Jesus’ tribe), not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,’ declares the Lord.”
Romans 4:13-16 “For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if those who are of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise is nullified; for the Law brings about wrath, but where there is no Law, neither is there violation.”
WHAT ABOUT MATTHEW 5:17-18? Let's write these verses here, and understand that Jesus had not died on the cross yet when He spoke these words:
"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished."
Hebrews 7:28 “Moses' Teachings designated mortals as chief priests even though they had weaknesses. But God's promise, which came after Moses' Teachings, designated the Son who forever accomplished everything that God required.”
Romans 10:4 “For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Romans 11:25, 27 "For I do not want you, brethren, to be uniformed of this mystery: And this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins."
Galatians 3:19 "Why the Law then? It was added because of transgressions, having been ordained through angels by the agency of a mediator [Moses], until the seed [Jesus] should come to whom the promise had been made.”
Ephesians 2:14-16 “For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups [Jews and Gentiles] into one, and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.”
Colossians 2:14 "having blotted out the bond written in ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us: and He hath taken it out that way, nailing it to the cross;"
Hebrews 8:6-7, 13 “But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion sought for a second.” “When He said, ‘A new covenant,’ He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear.”
Hebrews 9:15, 18 “And for this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, in order that since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.”
Hebrews 12:24 “and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.”

Persecution and Mission
Acts 18:12-13 “The Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him before the judgment seat, saying, ‘This man persuades men to worship God contrary to the Law.’
Romans 3:28 “For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.”
So why did the Apostle Paul not only shave his head, but also instruct Gentiles who were being persecuted by the Jews to observe some of their Law (Acts 15 and 21)? 1 Corinthians 9:20 states, “And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law, though not being myself under the Law, that I might win those who are under the Law.”
1 Cor 8:9-13 confirms this advice to the Gentiles in regard to our Jewish brethren:
"But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak. For if someone sees you, who have knowledge, dining in an idol's temple, will not his conscience, if he is weak, be strengthened to eat things sacrificed to idols? For through your knowledge he who is weak is ruined, the brother for whose sake Christ died. And so, by sinning against the brethren and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ. Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble."

Jesus said "DON NOT THINK that I have come to abolish the LAW or The Prophets but to fulfill them. The word fulfill means "to cause God's will as made know in the Law of Moses to be obeyed as it should be. You used Galatians 3:19-25 to try and disprove that the Law is no longer valid. First of all Paul is not Messiah and Paul would not have told us to stop keeping the commandments in the Law. If you look at the text with kknowing the history of what Paul was dealing with. The tudor is the Oral Law of the Pharisees and scribes that caused people to draw close to Messiah because the Phaerisees made the Law of Moses into man made commandments called the Orla Law. Paul was against the Oral Laws and NOT GOD's Law.
Ga. 3:10 says, "Cursed are those who are under the LAw (under the oral traditions and customs of men), CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT DO EVERYTHING WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW.
The context of Paul is dealing with those judaisers who were saying that one has to be circumcised according to the CUSTOM of Mose. Moses never had a custom for circumcision. Abraham was given the commandment of circumcision. Paul was worried that the Galatians had fallen back to following man and not God.
Jesus said it clear, "why are you making Gods word void because of your tradtions. Christians are right when they say they ar no longer under the law but they are making a big mistake to think that the law Paul speaks of is the Law of God. Jews believe that two Laws were given on Mt. Sinai (The Oral and the Written). IN the NT there is only one word for any law weather its man made or from God. Jesus did not nail the Law to the cross. He broke down the enmity between the those who made the law of commandments into doctrines of men, commandments and traditions that Jews and Gentiles cannot associate. This is not found in the Law of God to separate Jews and Gentiles. The Law says Love the foreigner and do mistreet them, treat them as a native that lives with you. Christs Law is the Law of God. Is Jesus not God? If he is God then he is the one who gave the Law from Mt. Sinai. Man has made following man more important than following God.
13 Then the Lord said, "Because this people draw near with their words And honor Me with their lip service, But they remove their hearts far from Me, And their reverence for Me consists commandments taught by men,
14 Therefore behold, I will once again deal marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous; And the wisdom of their wise men will perish, And the discernment of their discerning men will be concealed."

Gods Law is hear forever. So do we stop keeping the Sabbath, eating Biblical food, throw out the biblical feasts?
Pastor Will, I realize you are a pastor and I hope you understand that God uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise (1 Cor 1:27), so please do not despise my response. "Do not think that I came to abolish [destroy] the law or the Prophets, but to fulfill [complete] them." You said, “the word fulfill means ‘to cause God's will as made know[n] in the Law of Moses to be obeyed as it should be.’” Where do you get that? A concordance? A commentary? A pastor or Rabbi?
What are God’s Laws? The 10 Commandments. Look up every commandment spoken of by Jesus throughout the New Testament gospels and you will see He only quotes the 10 Commandments, the Law He said are His commandments (John 14:15), for Jesus is God - AMEN. We agree! I also suggest you read my hubs, “Stone from the Throne” and “Torah: The Law of Moses” before you continue in debate. I have placed their links at the base of this hub for YOU. The Word of God is extremely clear on this matter.
Look at Mat 19:17-20 Jesus said, “If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.’ He said to Him, ‘Which ones?’ And Jesus said, ‘You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Did Jesus say, the 413 Mitzvot? NO.
Gal 3:10 is clear. You may wish to add your interpretation to explain your views, but I take the scripture for what it says: “Cursed is everyone who does not do EVERYTHING written in the book of the Law.” He didn’t say “cursed is everyone who gets circumcised”. Basically, if one is going to continue in the Old Covenant, he nullifies the New Covenant (see last paragraph of this comment). That's what Paul was preaching! He knew full well NO ONE could keep the Law of Moses and yet, as much as they tried and boasted in it, were prideful because of it (hypocricy), they could not be made righteous by it.
However, if keeping the Law of Moses makes you feel that you are pleasing the Lord, consider the New Covenant took us back to Abraham (400 years before the Law was ever given to Moses), in that we are saved by His grace through faith, just as Abraham was. The Law is not of faith (Gal 3:12) ~ and without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God (Heb 11:6).
What commandment were the Jews breaking when Jesus spoke to them about transgressing the commandment of God? Mat 15:3-5 “And He answered and said to them, ‘Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’…But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God,’ he is not to honor his father or his mother.' And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.” Commandment #5.
If the Law of Moses were ‘oral’ as you claim, why are they written in a book and stored in the side of the ark of the Covenant? Why are they written for everyone to read even today?
Gal 2:21 states clearly, “I do not nullify [make void] the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly." Rom 10:4 “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”
I do not judge you, for if you love the Lord and have been saved by His grace through faith, the Word says, "Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only."
Regarding the Sabbath, festivals and new moons, etc. Col 2:16-17 state, "Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day--things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ."
Rom 14:5 states, "One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind."

You missed everything I said. and if you look as Strong's concordance you would see the definition to the Greek word fulfill. You obviously are anti Law and so that stop me from even furthering our talk. You look at an English translation that teaches hate towards Jews and God's Written Torah. You need to study your history before .stating untrue facts about the Bible.
You are using the scriptures out of context. And have a closed mind to the Law of God or Torah of God which is his instructions for us to live. Rom 14:5 is saying don't let know one judge you for doing the feasts and if you STUDY the Greek at all this is speaking of ritual impurity and not everyday uncleanliness. I suppose Christmass in in the Bible as well as Easter which come from Pagan backgrounds. Be my gueat. I wa=ont judge you, God will in the end for not doing what He said. If you chose to follow what Man has established as doctrine and truth then you have fallen under the drunkenenss of the Harlett and cannot see the truth when its in front of you. If you do love God you will keep his commandments and not just the ones you chose to do. "Those who say they know God and do not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Sin is LAWLESSNESS (hoe can this be read in any other way without adding opinions to it? " 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. (1Jo 5:3 NAU)
There is only one Bible with the commandments. Nothing has changed and I do not judge those he keep the feasts as long as they keep them. They are a shadow and reminder of what is coming. True celebration with our Messiah in enternity. Please don't get caught following the devil who name is the LAWLESSONE, thats why its so hard to talk with those who do not get it. they have taken the Mark of Lawlessness. The Mark of God is His Word, Sabbath and Passover. The mark of the beast is the oppisite of the Mark of God. Look up you scriptures and find out what the mark of God is and you will seee how the enemy and only counterfeit God.
I know all the verses you are bring up and I do not have the time to show you how easy it is to twist them to following the mark of the enemy that is against God and his word.

The LAw of Moses is not Oral. The laws of the Jews are Oral. The Law of Moses is Gods Law and even Jesus kept it. It was the traditions that Jesus was against. If you cannot see this then I am finish trying to explain because you have an-agenda to teach people to not follow the commandments of God and will be called least in heaven. Matt. 5:17-21
Law of Christ": Torah: The Law of Moses
There is no difference than the Law of Mose and the Law of Messiah . They Are the same thing. Now you have made two Gods. One Jesus and the other Gof of the Old T. There is no such things as an Old 5t. and a New T. Maybe now you might have an enlightened understanding of Mat 5:18: "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled [completed]." Jesus Christ followed all the Jewish laws, which NO MAN could do, so He could FULFILL [complete] them. He did not obtain righteousness through them, for He is righteousness. He fulfilled the Law, nailing it to the cross, thus entering into a NEW Covenant in His blood, no longer the blood of goats and lambs (Heb 9:11-12). Col 2:14, "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross".

This is not Rom 14:5, but Col 2:16-17. Who were the Colossians? Christian Gentiles...not Jews. Verses 20-21 state, "If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, 'Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!"
Saved Jews, on the other hand, were being pulled to go back to the Law of Moses, which Paul not only condemned Peter for almost giving in to, but said to the 'saved' Jews in Gal 1:6-7 "I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ." Keep reading, in context up through Chapter 2:12-15 "For prior to the coming of certain men from James, he [Peter] used to eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to withdraw and hold himself aloof, fearing the party of the circumcision. The rest of the Jews joined him in hypocrisy, with the result that even Barnabas was carried away by their hypocrisy...how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?...nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified."
I celebrate the birth and resurrection of Christ; judge how you wish. God knows the heart of man, by which each will be judged.
What are the Commandments of God? Read the two links I've provided at the base of this hub. Understand this: Gal 3:19 "Why the Law then? Do you think that Moses is yet the mediator between God and man? You accuse me of following 'two gods'? 1 Tim 2:5 states, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." I follow the gospel according to Jesus Christ, which is found in Eph 2:8-9: "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."
To accuse me of being 'lawless' is out of context. The Law of God is fulfilled in two: Love God (the first four commandments) and love your neighbor as yourself (the last six commandments) ~ the summary of the 10 Commandments.
Speaking of the Law vs the heart, consider Rom 2:29 ~ we are now circumcised in the heart, not the flesh; adultery is committed in the heart, simply by lusting, etc. (Mat 5:28). You can do all the fleshly 'law-keeping' you want, but this is what Jesus meant when He said, "My people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me." (Mat 15:8).

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS are not commandments:

These are the ten word spoken by God to Israel before he gave them the commandments. These are the words of the covenant. The words of agreement that God is one and they are to follow those words to make an agreement to follow Gods Torah.

The Commandments are our righteousness and our life because of the testimony that God wrote ten words with his finger to be a testimony that he is the God who is to be obeyed forever and the Torah he gives will give them life and righteousness.

Hello. Holy Spirit does not have multiple personality. There is only one faith but multiple opinions. Opinion is religion. To support Judah's Daughter I would say that an Old Law was good but only Law of flesh. Now after the resurrection New Law is Law of the spirit, inner man.
If this is in control then we do not walk in flesh.
New Covenant (Law) was predicted in Jer. 31:31-33. New man, new heart was predicted in Ezech 18:31.

Now, Pastor Will or Pichas (not sure who's writing what), it appears you're trying to say the 10 Commandments aren't commandments, but a testimony to keep the 'commandments' of ordinances, statues, judgments, etc. Look at Eph 2:15 "by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace."
I've already quoted Mat 19:17-19. But, for the sake of staying focused here, I will type it out again: "If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.' He said to him, 'Which ones?' And Jesus said, 'You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,'" etc.
The word 'commandments' is the Greek word 'entole', which literally means 'commandments', not 'testimony'. Jesus goes on to quote those commandments ~ of the 10 and not of the Law of Moses, the Torah. Now, 'commandments' under the Old Covenant is the Hebrew word 'Mitvotai'. So, Jesus clearly tells this man 'WHICH ONES' we are to observe and keep under the New Covenant. It's obvious you haven't read my hub "Stone from the Throne" (I highly recommend it) and "Torah: The Law of Moses"). Let the Bible speak for itself.
May I challenge you to one thing? Prove that we are to keep the Law of Moses (the Mitzvot) or even the Rabbinic laws, just using the New Testament (which means 'Covenant' or 'Will'). Ever heard of a Last Will and Testament?

You do not know the context of GalaTIANS. Galatians 5:4 You who are trying to be declared righteous by God through legalism (oral laws and takkanot of man) have severed yourselves from the Messiah! They were not keeping the dietary laws, observing the festivals or new moons, let alone keeping the seventh-day Sabbath of no work. For a Jew to become righteous, he must understand the Old Covenant conditions were put to death in the flesh of Jesus on the cross. He must be 'born again', coverted to Christianity. This is 'spiritual Israel' of which it is written "All Israel will be saved" (Rom 11). Enough said.

Additional laws of the Takanot? That's Tanakh. It is the Hebrew Bible.

Circumcision was a 'sign' of the Covenant, the Old Covenant. For the married woman is bound by law to her husband while he is living; but if her husband dies, she is released from the law concerning the husband. My hubs about God being one LORD are actually supported by a Messianic Jewish website, as we share the faith that God is not three (trinity). He's already forgiven you and wants you to walk by faith as Abraham did.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Rom 10:17). The righteous shall live by faith (Heb 10:38; Habakkuk 2:4). Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6 - note that in Heb 11 all the patriarchs of faith are those who lived waaaaay before the Law was given to Moses). For by grace are you saved through faith (Eph 2:8). The Law is not of faith (Gal 3:12). Shall I go on? Reject everything Paul wrote, if you want. He didn't write Hebrews 11.
I'm sure you know a lot more than I on certain subjects. I don't know everything, Deborah. Believers are each a part of the body of Christ and we are not a whole in and of ourselves. Hi sister Tamarajo! I pray this hub is helpful ~ sometimes I just put the scripture out there without a lot of personal narration, to just let the Holy Spirit do His work. Truly, the message of the cross takes the burden of the Law away from oppressing the people of God. He fulfilled it perfectly; the requirements have been fully met and we now rest in the fullness of Christ, our Lord.
I believe the Covenant between God and man is eternal; it's the requirements of the Covenant that are separated as "Old" and "New"; praise God! Blessing always to you, dear sister.
Recent discoveries at Tel Hazor in Northern Israel prove that the system of laws written down in the Codex Hammurabi (King of Babylon) were in use - in Israel - before the Israelites reached 'the promised land' from Egypt during the exodus.
Mosaic law: as written in Deuteronomy, is simply a plagiarized copy of the much older Hammurabi codex, written in the fifth century BC.
The ten commandments were lifted straight out of the Egyptian book of the dead around the same time.

For all those who religiously kept the Law of Moses, Jesus even called some of them 'the synagogue of Satan' (Rev 2:9; 3:9) and 'of their father, the devil' (John 8:44). Gal 3:12 tells us the Law is not of faith. Eph 2:8-9 tells us by grace we are saved through faith, and not of works. John 1:17 tells us the Law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ, our Lord. The righteous shall live by faith (Gal 3:11; Heb 10:38). If one's faith is in anything but Christ, he will be confused by the many false prophets that are here and are on the rise. God is not the Author of confusion (1 Cor 14:33). It would seem Hammurabi knew the law of Moses before Moses.

After this, I ended up writing a hub called "Torah: The Law of Moses", just listing scripture after scripture (quite lengthy) to make it CLEAR what the New Covenant is all about. It's the SAME, eternal Covenant, just the requirements of the Old have been fully met in Christ, and we are now under the requirements of the New: Love the Lord, Your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and Love your neighbor as yourself. Keeping the New Covenant commandments is not possible unless one is 'born again', for the word for love, used in these commandments is 'agape', which is only possible if one receives it from the LORD, who first loved us. Because of receiving that love, we then love others, for Christ lives and loves through us. This love will bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit. What good is the keeping of the Torah, when one uses the Tarot? Does the Law of Moses not condemn astrology, mediums and spiritism? Case-in-point. 1 Cor 13 all the way! Clang, clang!!
We should not boast in keeping the Law (Eph 2:9), especially if we aren't keeping it. Remember I talked about those who 'hide' their sins, in order to appear acceptable to their peers who claim to keep the 'Law', too? No wonder Jesus called them 'hypocrites' (hypo=under; crites=critic). And here, we have a showing of the hypo-criticism of those born-again who adhere to the New Covenant by those who claim all are to remain under (hypo) the Law (critic). Hi Kevin Quinn ~ I listened to almost all of the videos, and my concern about Ron Wyatt is his message to everyone, stating that only those who keep the 10 Commandments, including the seventh-day Sabbath, will receive the mark of God; everyone else will receive the mark of the beast. He also said the Ark and the tablets would be made manifest when the mark of the beast law is put into effect. I don't know why but I got to reading your blog doing homework for Religion 210 and I could not stop. I am an American, I love the Lord and am saved and what not but I must say your literary skills are to to par. I would have enjoyed reading some on Job though. Ole Job speaks to my heart. Job, the oldest book of the Bible...I love some of the passages in there like 33:4 and 38:4-7 ~ and reading about the great Dragon, Leviathan in Chapter 14.
Job shows us a few things ~ that 'karma' is not a biblical concept, for Job was accounted righteous before God. His trials had nothing to do with sin or wrong-doing. We also can see the divine will of God over His children and His Sovereignty when it comes to limiting Satan's desires to destroy them. We can also see that Satan will use friends while we are going through God-ordained testing/trials ~ which, brings me to the truth of the matter ~ that God Himself tests us, while Satan tempts us to disobey God through those tests (which is part of the test).

This is a constant theme in the New Testament, the apostle Paul having to remind Jews that they were no longer under the Old Covenant, this was the reason why the book of Hebrews was written,Hebrews 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant he hath made the first old, Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. Romans 10:4 For Christ is the END of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes. THE QUESTION IS DO U BELIEVE??

What saved them from the death angel? The blood of the Lamb - they had to hear the voice of God, do what He said, which was to spread the blood of a lamb around the doors of their dwelling places.
May the blood of the Lamb be on the 'door' of our 'house', which is the 'tabernacle' (temple) of the Holy Spirit, when we are born again. Praise God!

Oh, the beautiful TRUTH, Chano!! In Mat 5:20 Jesus surely said (and He IS the Truth), "For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven."
2 Cor 5:21 "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
You know, recently I had a inspirational thought - it had to do with Jesus' statement in John 8:18, "I am He who testifies about Myself, and the Father who sent Me testifies about Me." That word 'testifies' or 'testimony' is the Greek word 'marturion' (mar-too’-ree-on): something evidential, i.e. (gen.) evidence given or (spec.) the Decalogue (in the sacred Tabernacle):-to be testified, testimony, witness.
The Decalogue is the Law on stone tablets!!
The LORD Jesus was our walking, talking Decalogue! He, as the last Adam (1 Cor 15:45), perfectly lived the Law, fulfilled the Law and FOREVER accomplished ALL that God required (Heb 7:28). Col 2:14 "having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
This IS the gospel of the New Covenant in His blood (Mat 26:28). His sacrifice was predestined to be made manifest since the foundation of the world (Rev 13:8) and when He said, "It is Finished" (John 19:30), that is what He meant.
We can never praise Him enough. HalleluYah to our God and Savior, Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13)!!
